JOHN HeDOlIALD, : Editor. DEMOCRATIC COUSTY TICKET FOR RECORDER, O. II. P. II ANNA. FOR COMMISSIONER. SIMON S N Y d i: n . FOR SURVEYOR, J . M . KLINGE 11. IIOjIE guard. There will be a meeting hell at Westervelt Hall, on Saturday evening, July 13th, l:Gl,for the purpose of organizing a Home Guard, and to take such steps as are necessary for the procurement of arms, Hud the complete organization Oi'a Military Company under the new Militia Law of toe State of Indiana. The celebration of our national anniversary; vras a complete success. The town never was so full of people ; everybody Fccmel anxious to do or s.17 something worthy of remembrance, an 1 never was a similar lav, in our town, attended with so many "results." To give a full history of the day's proceeding?, we shall not attempt, lut will merely say that the day was fine, the oration, reading, speeehe?, and music, weio finer, and the dinner finest. The proceedings of the day were A'ariegated of fights, and unnecessary amounts of drunkenness. It was thought that two or three men were "mortally wounded," but their recuperative faculties proved too much for the bruises, and we are therefore cheated of a sensation item. A political temperance street lecture was delivered in the afternoon, by the Mcthodi.-t Minister of tins place, followed by some half-do.en others of nil shades of belief. During the delivety of his lectnre, a great many, who probably endorsed all he wa3 saying, woul t frerpieutlr step into tha saloon, near by wet their whistles, and return, feeling much improved. We did not hear the fpeeches following, but arc informed that Mr Reeve being called out, took occasion to diUl-r with the first speaker, in language mild, but plain strong and convincing. It is our opinion that the first lecturers conscience can rest easy for all the irjury Lis lecture done the business of the liquor sellers. In the evening, the display of Fire "Works gave saJsfaciion, and was truly a fine i tlumina 'on. The ball, in the evening at C.-r-bin's Hall, was a "good thing" for all who at '.endod, and the Brass Band, by whom it was given. The day and its incidents will not soon be forgotten by the participants in the celebration. Tjiz members of the Plymouth Cras Rami desire to thank those kind fiiends who po Iibe-illv patronized their Dance on the evening of the -Ph. For the information of lhoc who were afiald our Dance would be a fat'ure, it may not be oit of place to state that it was an entire success. In this connection they wish to thank the mernbeisof the Masonic fraternity of this place for a donation c f $10 made two weeks ago. The Rand was never in better "condition" than now, and with the new instruments, music, Ac, to be purchased with the money on hand, we hope that Plymouth enn snon boast of as good a band as any of her sifter villages. D. The prospects for farmers ne vorv discouraging, although bles-:cd with a playful crop of wheat and th? prom:se of a good o op of other grains. The prices ate down, with a downward ten lercv. The market isghitted with all m:c!ei which have hitherto lound a rravVct in the .South, atd the re-! ( t'nTl M ) rT fif t.iJti n itl. ,1... . .... k" .1. Ä j I t v Haue nun iii.it, ji.uioi in u couiiirv is one of the things not likely to occur soon. Wheat is now selliog at siity-five ceots, although we hear of sales in neighboring towns at lift v cents. Last week e published the premium list of the Marshall County Agiicul mal society, but neg-j lected to call attention to ihe f.tet that it will not j be published again, and that all ft ho are in any way inlet estcd in th;it matter, would d j well to hie thejaper fur fuuherreflett'on. Wz are indebted to Rev. I. C. Pershixc,! President of the Pi'tsFurgh Female College, foa copy of its last annual catalogue. The ins'ifution is worJy of the success which is attending it. We understand that Hev. V. D. Carlft, of the Val paras' a M . & F. College, is soon to take charge of a high School at South Rend- We should be glad to 'take" a little "charge" we have against him. It ia said that the lain falls on the just Mid the unjust, from which we judge that our community is blessed with both classes, as we have been gelting a douVc portion for the last few d.iys. Caset Si Moret announce that they are making and Felling Root3 and Shoes a htt!echrapr than anv other house ia town. Call an I pee about it. Special .Voliccs. Natoleom, Henry Co., O., July 7, R?5S. Da. C. W. Roiack, Dear Sir : For the benefit of suffering humanity, pe rmit us to announce, through the column of your C.rcuhir, th surprising properties of your Scandinavian Blood Purifier and R'ood Pills, which is a sure cure for Indigestion and Liver Complaint. We h ive several persora in town, who have been suffering with Liver Comp'a'n and Indigestion, and notwithstanding that we have as good physicians as can be found in Northern Ohio, yet tha disease baffled their fkill. Consequently we were in a state of despondency, until we commenced using )our Pill-, through and by the advice of our friend, Mr. Ilrennan. We U3ed the medicine according to diicctions.and are now full of life and hilarity, and our fcratitwfr u cqnal to our improvement in health and spirits. When we take into consideration what vie have been, and what we are at present, we f. cl like chargirg ourselves of the sin of ingratitude, if we did not try to announce to tha public, the the great benefits ofvour Medicine. Therefore we recommend to tlx? public at large, the expediency of having recourse to your Medicine, and con -Bqucntly, as in duty bound, discharge what we feel to bo our duty, in advising persons who arc suffering as we haTc suffered, to nnkc ujo of the only true and sure core for the disease already m.-n-tioncJ- , Mns.llim, .Mrs. Rri.nxa.
