Packanl addressed the goodly number that aas present An old Democrat friend of ours who heard the speech told us that it was as od a ' apeech a, he ever heard. It wa, received with ! . , , , great enthusiasm by the Democrats, and w e unleretand that some of the war ring ere confirmi,anJ hay since declare! their firm intention to .ote for Douglas and Johmon and against negroeiility and disunion. Good, come along. Conservae men will continue to come over until the nonr.tervention party will have scarcely any opposition. Democrats, continue to keep the truth before the people, and w will, at the close of this campaign, have accomplished such a good work es has never been accomplished in the same length of time, by any political party. Work vigilantly, carefully, cautiously, honestly, and victory is ours. Misplaced Confidence. W understand that some ten days or two weeks since, oar esteemed friend Porter, Pastor of the Presbyterian church in this place, was made to feel that ha was the viatim of misplaced confidence. A negro eame into our town ; told a pitiful tory; that his wife was in bondage in the South ; that he had been working for years to get money to buy her liberty j that he had learned that her master was going to sell her ; that he had not time to work to raise the balance of the money to buy her with ; and that he had started out begging, in the hope that befriends would raise the requisite amount. II applied to Mr. Porter, aud not in ain ; for he turned out and raised him quite an Amount,- contributing liberally himself. The nerro wat very thankful, took the money, went ofl down town, and at a late hour of the night was found, io the vicinity of the Rail Road Depot, very druk, Mr.PorUrwent to him, when he heard tali, and tried to get the anoney back; but the ngro was not so drunk as to forget his business, snd as he had a'good thing' he was determined to save irW.BwieratMdtbat Mr. Porter tried every way to get the money back, that he mi-ht refund it to those he had gotten it from On the paper the negro had with him were the names of Hon. LOOD FURIFER AND BLOOD PILLS ! DR. KUB AUK'S cnudaiiaviaii Itemed ies. When Dr. Roback, the celebratel Swedish I hy-4-itian, introduced his RIood Purifier and Blood Tills in the United States, he et forth in plain lanpu.u'c thc:r curative properties. 'I Iiis was years ago. The task of recommending them has fcince been taken tut of his hands. Enligntened men j whose character tor sound judgment and philosoj phy, gives their opinions weight in the community, i men, who observe, rellect, und make 4 assurance i docbly sure' before thev decide are everywhere approving and urging the u-e of these wonderful Preparation. All who conlide in the wisdom and honesty ot this class, or who choose to investigate for themselves are now of one minion this impor- ' taut subject. Dr. Roback invites the attention of the sick to the ORIGINAL LETTERS, from members of the Medical Profession, Editors of public journals, well known Merchants and Farmers, and Ladies of the highest respectability, giving accounts of extraordinary cures wrought by the remedies, cf w hich cures they themselves were EVE WITNESSES. These parties may be consulted personally or by letter, lv those who have any douot upon the subject. The evidence in tho possession of Dr. Roback, which is at all times accessible to the public, establish the following facts : That the Blood Turifer and Blood Pills have been proved by analysis to CONTAIN NO MINERAL, That they cure thcalmo.u universal complaint, DVSPErSIA, with unerring certainty, and in a very short time. That after all other medicines have proved useless they relieve LIVER COMPLAINT, and restore the health and strength of tbcsulferer. THAT SICK FEMALES, who have languished for years in helpless weakness and despondency, recuperate with great rapidity under their invigorating operation. That all sexual disabilities are removed by their cordial and gentle stimulating properties. 1 hat they recruit SHATTERED CONSTITUTIONS, however they may have been trilled with &. abused; that their direct tendency is to lengthen life, and rend - it enjoyable. That operating directly upon the poison of the disease in the lloodthey CACSE SOON TO HEAL, and discharge from the system, every taint of Scrofula, whether hereditary or otherwise. That they RECRCIT THE DEBILITATED, and there is no diiease of tha Stomach and Bowels, the Liver aud Nervous System, the Skin, Glands or Muscles, ARISING FROM IMPURITIES OR OBSTRUCTIONS OF THE BLOOD OR SECRETIONS, in which they do not give prompt relief, and, (if administered before the very citadel of life has been invaded,) effect a painless and perfect cure. Bear in mind that the Scandinavian Vegetable Ploou Tills are endorsed by the experience of thousands of living witnesses, who, in letters, aflidavits, medical woiks and by word of mouth, proclaim them to be the verv best preparation of the i kind ever offered to the broken down victims of ill health. They hunt disease through every avenue and organ of the system, and expel it thoroughly atid permanently. No one can doubt their superiority after one single trial they ate not only better, but in fact, cheaper than any other Pills, for it takes a less number of them to produce a better effect. Price of the Scandinavian Vegetable Blood Turifier, $1 per bottle, or $5 per half dozen. Of the Scandinavian Vegetable Blood Pills, 25 cents per box, or 5 boxes for 1. Read Dr. Roback 's Special Notices and Certificates, published in a conspicuous part of this Paper from time to time. Dr. Koback's Medical Almanac and Family Adviser, containing a great variety of interesting an.l valuable Medical informatioii, can be had i-rati s of his Agents throughout the country In dillieult or complicated Cases, Dr. Robark may be consulted personally or by letter enclosing one stamp lb; the reply.
