The Dr. ia one of our most whole-souled citizens, keeps first-class Drugs and Medicines and a good assortment, and hw a 'pile' of Yankee Notions that are worth going miles to see. He also has a varied assortment of books and stationery and keeps on hand all the late periodicals of the day. Call and ece him. CTTae trade for the past week has been rather dull in town the farming community absenting themjielvfs to harvest their crops. We hear good reports of the yield of whest'and other cereals. The prospect for cern were never fait er than at the present time. We hope the " tillers of the goli " the bone and sinew ef the land may hare all their bright anticipation realized, for upon the prosperity of the farmer depends the prosperity of the nation. HTFor the lat eight or tn days our town and vicinity has been infested with a tribe of lazy, lour, lying, dirty, thieving, 'god-forsaken band of v -vhes, known better by the name of Gipiies. E7From the number of persons tht are daily thronging the Ohio Cash Store we aro led to be liere that it is the phce to purchase cheap and desirable goods. Mr. McWii.mamj has a full an 1 complete stock of well selected and merchantable goods, and besides knowing how to buy he knows how to sell thera. On hit shelves will be found everything that is necessary to supply the wants of the community. His clerks. Rose and IIite, are pe rfect gentlemen, and kind, affable and courteous to all, and If anything, can beat " Mc " himself a little, in selling goods, which is saying a good deal. Marble Snor. Mr. A.F. Roberts, has recently epwnod up, at eorncr of La Porte and Walnut street?, in this place, a fine Marble Shop, and is now prepared to furnish on short notice Monuments, Spires, Tomb and Head Stouer, as well as every other article pertaining to this business. His stock un band is large and embraces many different varieties of Marble. Mr. R. has In his employ some of the very best workmen and the specimens of work done by them will bear com perison with that of the best done in the large cit les. Persons desiring any articles of the above description should not fail to call en Mr. Roberts. Patrohiie Homb Ikdustet. Mr. Carjibtt than whom there is not a better Artipt this side of the "big water" informs us that he will con tinoe for one week longer to take the best of pictures, neatly pot up in cases, at the low price of twenty-flve cent. This is certainly an inducement, and a great one, for old and young, larjre and small, married and unmarried, good-looking and bai looking, the grey -haired veteran mid the 'big boys," the aged matron and the lass whose cheeks dlmplo as the rose," to walk up, roll up, and tumble up, to Carbdtt's Premium Pictun? Our friend Cltshaw, of Sewing Machine notoriety, tells ua a yarn which goes down pretty hard, but he vouches for the truth of il and is therefore responsible. Not long since he was stopping at a hotel in a village about thirty miles from Plymouth, and while at the pupper table the following oolloquj took place between a guest of the house and the landlady : 8tranger. Madam, there undoubtedly Is tur pt ntiae or something else in this tea of mine." Landlady." Impesaiele ! There has not been particle of turpentine or any thing of the kind, In the house for over a year." 8tranger. (Taking another swallow of tea and making a wry face.) " But, Madam, I tell you, and insist that there is something in the tea." Landlady.-(Stepping forward confidently, takes op cup, examinee it and takes a swallow.) "Well, I do declare, if that ain't the cup that contained the medicine we wa-hed John's sore ley in." CcTiHaw says the last he saw ef the stranger he was out behind the barn with both hands near the pit of the stomaeh. trying to get that tea out of him. Me9rs. RESOLUTIONS PASSED BY THE MARSHALL COUNTY MEDICAL SOCIETY. At a regular monthly meeting of the Marshall County Medical Society held in Plymouth, July 5th, 1860, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted : Whereas, It hath pleased the Creator and dispenser ot mankind to remove from our Society and our midst our worthy and much esteemed brother, Dr. R. Brown, and that io the death of our associate we are desirous of recording an united expression of our regret for his loss and respect for his mvmory, therefore Risohed, That in the death of Dr. Crown the medical profession has sustained the loss of one of its most eminent and valued members a man esteemed alike for his (purifications us a physician and for his honorable deportment in professional intercourse; we hare witnessed in his life a remarkable and instructive example of a distinguished position, attained in spite of many early obstacles, as the reward of his unwearied industry, hi unwavering perseverance, and the untiring devotion of his whole powers to the duties in which he was engaged. Resolved, That we have recognized in him a happy union of those moral, intellectual and personal qualities which arc necessary to the character of a good physician (qualities which iuspireat once respect, confidence and affection, and which have secured to him an amount of publie esteem and personal regard which few are permitted to enjoy. Resolved, That we deeply and sincerely sympathize with his disconsolate widow, his relative and friends, iu their great bereavement in the loss of a kind and affectionate husband, an indulgent father and a steadfast friend. Resolved, That these proceedings be made a part of the permanent record of the Society. Revolved, That a copy be given to the family of the deceased. Resolved, That a copy be given to each press for publication. J. D. GRAY, Pres't. E. J. Brooke, Sec'y, ÜirXo remedy has been introduced to the publie within our recollection that has so rapidly attained universal popularity 11s Dr. John Bull's' Yeyt table XYrm D'stroijtr. This painful and common disease which physicians do not appear fully to understand, will be greatly relieved, and iu most instances a permanent cure may be effected, by the use of Wilson's Pills, which regulate the stomach and bowels, ami pnxluce a soothing effect ujxm the nerves whici'i cause the acute pain. They are prepared and sold by U. L. Fahnestock & Co. Wholesale Druggists, and proprietors of U. L. Fahnestock's Vermifuge, No. 60, corner Wood and Fourth Streets, Pittsburgh, Pa. and Pershing & Co. and merchants generally jy-lt Da. Roback's Remedies. We publish in another coli-nm of to-'i .v's paper, an article copied from the Cinciunatti Times, descriptive of Dr. Roback's extensive medical establishment in that city. Ry the way Dr. Roback's Remedies have obtained a great and deserved popularity with all classes. It has been but a .hört time nince these Remedies were introduced into our section of the country ; yet Dr.Rreniinan, Dr. Roback's agent in this place, informs us that his sales of the Plood Pill. and B!ood Purifier now far exceed those of all other medicines for which he is agent, combined. The reason for this, is, that they have stood the test of practical experience. We know this not only from the mouths of others, but we have used them in our own family with the very best results. For all diseases of the blood, general debility, whether proceeding from sickness or natural weakness, indijrestion, and all kindred ailments, we recommend the Scandinavian Remedies as the very hest medicines extant. They are destined to achieve not an ephemeral nuecees, but a permanent and deserved reputation, which will render them a necessity in every family. Napoleon ()., North West, MarchZ.
