FROM UTAH AND PIKE'S PEAK.—The central overland express has arrived here, bringing dates from Camp Floyd to Feb. 8th. Salt Lake to the 10th, and Denver City to February 22d. All was quiet at Salt Lake. Bill Hickman was slowly recovering from his wounds. The health of the troops at Camp Floyd and Fort Bridger was good. The express brought three passengers from Denver and $2,500 m gold dust. No letters came by this arrival. Business at Denver was improving, and many miners were leaving for the mountains. New diggings had been discovered in different sections, and parties had gone over to the Colorado, prospecting. A company was being organized to explore that river as far down as Fort Yuma. —————— Of Mazzini U tll the romantic story that in early life he loved a beautiful countrywoman, who was torn from him by the Church, end placed to wither in a convent. He then consecrated his life through her, and no other passion has supplanted that of his youth. He corresponds with her, stilJ, as if they were youthful lovers. The Portsmouth Republican says: "Mtny of the littls ones of this city are being gathered to the arms of the great Shepherd, by that torriblo disease, scarlatina. Tho door-knobs festooned in their white and bUck drapery, inform the passer-by, on almost every street, that the king of terrors has claim-id another victim." A Paci6c Railroad bill has been submitted to Congress, for the construction of a railroad and telegraph, on both a northern and 3outhern route. The Republican State Convention of Pennsylvania, instructed their delegates to Chicago for Gen. Cameron for the Presidency.
