Many years ago, m an obscure country chool in Massachusetts, an humble conscientious boy was to be seen; and it was evident to all that he was beginning to act and thirst for some intellectual good. ITe was alive to knowledge. Next we ess hid pat forth on foot to settle in a remote town in that State, and pursue his fortunes there as a shoemaker, his tools being carefully sent on before him. In short time he is in business in the rest of county surveyor for Litchfield county, being the ' mos.t accomplished
mathematician in that section of the Stale. Before he is twenty-fite years of age, we fiind him supplying the astronomical matter of an almanac in New York. Next he is admitted to the bar, a self-fitted lawytr. Now he is on the bench of the Supreme Court. Next he becomes a member of the Continental Congress Then he is a member of the Committee of six to frame the Declaration of Independence. He continued a member of Congress for nearly twenty ye-ars, and was acknowledged to be one of the most useful men and wisest counsellors in Ihe land. At lenght having discharged every office with perfect ability, and honored in his iphere. he died regretted and loved by Stale and cation. That man was Rooeb Shebmas. Vherefc5, hostilities exist with various Iadian tribes on the remote frontiers of the United States, and whilst in other respects the public peace is seriously threatened. Congress hasadjourned without granting the neces sary supplies for the army, depriving ihe Executive of the power to perform his duty in relation to the common defence and security, and as an extraordinary oc casion has thus arisen for assembling the two Houses of Congress, 1 do, therefore, by this proclamation convene the said Houses to meet nt the Capitol in the city of Washington, Thursday, 21st day ol August, hereby requiring the respective Senators and Representatives then and there lo assemble and consult and deter mine on such measures as the stale of the Union may require. In every instance have the Pills proved successful. The Pills invariably open those ob structions to which females are liable, and bring nature into its proper chahnel.'wbereby health is restored and the pale and deathly countenance changed to a healthy one. No female can enjoy good health unless she is regular; and whenever an obstruction takes place whether from exposure, cold, or any other cause, the general health immediately begins to decline and the want of such a remedy has been the cause of so many consumptions among young females. To ladies whose health will not permit an increase of their family, the pills will prove a valuable acquisition as they will prevent pregnancy. Head ache, pain in the side, palpitation of the heart, loathing of food, and disturbed sleep, do most always arise from tho irruption of nature; and whenever that is th case the pills will invariably remedy all these evils.
