Our far mer commenced cutting tho first week u this monili, and we understand that with the exception of a very few fields, sli is now harvested. The wheat crop is to abundant one; and, as we aro in formed by mny old residents, will cunpnre favorably with any one n.rsed in the county for many ye-irs. We hive heard nothing hereabouts of the rust, fly, vceevil. or any similar disaster to which the grvn crops of this county are so liable; but all unite in pronouncing that there has been an abundant yield. During the pist few weeks the weather hM been quite dry; and we hive had tittle or no rain until last Friday, when a copious shower fell. The long continned drought has hxl an ill eff;ci upon all description of vegetation with the exception, perhaps of the wheat, which we re inclined to think, has been rather benefitted thin injured thereby. Grass, corn, oats, potatoes, and garden stuCfeen erally, have been much injured. The grass, especially, is used up; and in ail probability there will not be half a crop of oats.
