States in the House of Represen tatives; arfd whereas it is of the utmost importance to the inter ests of all the people of the United States that this census should be a. complete and accurate re port of the population and re sources of the countrx : Now, therefore, I, William Howard Taft, President of the United States of America, Io hereby declare and make known that wider the act aforesaid, it is the duty of even' person to answer all questions on the cen sus schedule aooKincr to him t " ami the family to which he be Iot!s and to the farm occupied by him or his family, and that any adult refusing to do so- is subject to penalty. GRAFT CASES CIRCUIT COURT TAKES RECESS AFTER FINDING VERDICT FOR LICHTENBERGER. Jury Awards Union Township Farmer Damages in Amount of $20 Against Telephone Co., After Long Trial. After a long trial comprising four days, hefore the local court, the jury after lelilerating an hour, returned a verdict for LichIcnheTer at six o'clock Monday evening, in the damage suit of Lichtenberger versus the Winona Telephone Company. 'Hie plaintiff asked for $10o,Jamages for the mutilation of trees standing within his field on a road in Union township, along which the local telephone company, was re constructing lines. A number of the limbs were cleared awav for the wires. Saturday afternoon the jury was taken to the farm, to view the damaged trees. The costs in the case, will far exceed the amount of damages.
