Miss Sarah Pershing has returned from a visit of four weeks with relatives in South Bend. Miss Mary Riddle has returned to Tiosa, after a visit at the home of George Riddle in In wood. Mrs. Mary Seltenright went to Laporte Saturday for a week's visit with friends and relatives. Samuel W. Craig has returned to Xappanee after a visit of three days with relatives in Plymouth. Bert and Fred Tyson have gone ot Batavia-, 111., for a visit of two weeks with their sister near that city. George Bergman has returned to Chariton, Iowa, after a visit of several weeks with his parents

Dr. Knott reports a boy, born Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bradley near Pretty Lake. Mrs. Guy Porter has returned to her home at Bellingham, Wash., after a visit with relatives in this city and county. Mr. and Mrs. S E. Reeves left Sa'turday afternoon for a visit of two -weeks at Sheffield and several other points in Illinois. George Rhinehart of Hanna, went to Macy to visit his brothei over Sunday. George resided west of this city many years. Elmer Poulson of Denver, Colorado, who has been visiting here, went to Mentone to day to visit his brother, Charles Poulson. Z. Baker who resides sbc miles east of Plymouth, went to Kokomo Saturday to visit a sister whom he had not 'seen for thirty vears.

'Miss Caroline Baker has returned to her home at Ottawa, 111., after a visit with the family of her brother, C. W. Baker, east öf this city. Mrs. Jacob Ness and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Gallup of Steubejiville, O., who has- been visiting here, went to Fort Wayne, to visit over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Wills have returned to their home at Detroit after a visit of two weeks here with the family of Joseph Swindell and other relative--Charles Stuck andMrs. T. H. Tinney, have returned to their home at Laporte, after attending the funeral of their father, W. H. Stuck, who died at Hibbard, Sept. 28. George Wenninger of Knox, stopped here for a visit with his brother Htnry, on his way home from an extended visit at Cleveland and other -points in eastern Ohio. Daniel Vantyle of Edwardsburg, Mich., spent Friday night with J. J. Hibray in this city and went from here to Culver to visii over Sunday at the home of E. C." Hibray. Ward Logan's laundry at Niles, Mich., was destroyed by fire Thursday morning. The fire is believed to be of incendiary origin. The loss is about $2,000, only partially insured. Gen. A. Sherer and Miss Dessie A. Shadley both of Inwood, were given a marriage license Saturday afternoon by County Clerk Whitesell. The a,ge of each is twenty years. Mrs. Losey went to Rochester Friday to meet her niece Beatrice Losey, seven years old, who came alone from Galton,, Pa., to spend the winter with her uncle and aunt in this city. Mrs. Elmer Slayter and granddaughter, Dorothy McElrath of Chicago, who have been visiting the family of Clarence M Slayter in this city, went to Etna Green to visit over Sunday. James M. Gibson and daughter, Thomas Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Staley and Mrs. Sylvester Lovell went to Hamna to attend the funeral of Mrs. Rebecca Carder, who died Wednesday, Sept. 29. ! I I Mrs. Gust Wolfe left Saturday afternoon for her home in Kansas after a visit of several weeks here.

John Leffert of near Argos, was in town and set his subscription ahead a year. He is preparing to leave for California, where he and his wife will spend the winter hoping to 'benefit her health. F. M. McCrory received a letter from his daughter Geneva, stating they had arrived safely at their new home in I'elfitld Xorth Dakota and were pleased with the surroundings. Mr. Hancy stated that threshing was about half done and that some fields had yielded KM) bushels of oats per acre, and wheat yielded from 20 to .() bushels per aero and flax from 10 to 1.", which he thinks is prvtty good return from ten dollar an acre land.

The Biggest Peaches. Marshall county has produced many fine peaches this year but the largest we have seen or heard of wvre left on our table Tuesday morning by Samuel Jordon of this city. They are late Crawfords ami were raised on a young tree in Mr. Jordan's yard on Sophi:: street. One of the two peaches donateM this office measures ten and one ha.f inches in circumference arod the other ten inches. They are without 'spot or blemish and show that Marshall countv peaches are hard to beat anvwhere.
