Nature's Way Is Best. The function strengthening and tissue building plan of treating chronic, lingering and obstinate cases of disease as pursued by Dr. Pierce, is following after Nature s plan of restoring health. He uses natural remedies, that Is extracts from native medicinal .roots, prepared by processes wrought ot.t by the expenditure of much time and money, without the use of alcohol, and by skillful combination In just the right proportions. Used as Ingredients of Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery. Black Cherrybark, Queen's root, Golden Seal root, Bloodroot and Stone root, specially exert their Influence In cases of lung, bronchial and throat troubles, and this "Discovery" is, therefore, a sovereign remedy for bronchitis, laryngitis, chronic coughs, catarrh and kindred ailments. The above native roots also have the strongest possible endorsement from the leading medical writers, of all the several schools of practice, for the cure not only of the diseases named above but also for indigestioa, torpor of liver, or biliousness, obstinate constif atlon, kidney and bladder troubles and catarrh, no matter where located. You don't have to take Dr. Pierce's ay-so alone as to this; what he claims for his "Discovery" Is backed up by the writings of the most eminent men in the medical profession. A request by postal card or letter, addressed to Dr. II. V. Pierce, Buffalo, N. Y., for a little book of extracts from eminent medical authorities endorsing the ingredients of his medicines, will bring a little book free that is worthy of your attention if needing a good, safe, reliable remedy of known composition for the cure of almost any old chronic, or lingering malady. A Chicago writer has just publish ed a novel whose central theme is the personal lonliness of a woman who has gained fame as an actress and is regarded with envy and admiration by the public. The divorce suit ot Mme. Emma Eames Story suggests the possibility of a similar situation. Her husband belongs to another profession and they were necessarily separated for long periods ,she, at least, by the very nature of her calling being shut off from social enjoyments. According to report he did not so isolate himself, but it is not necessary to assume misconduct on cither sice in such a case to see that alienation is the probable outcome. It is oftun declared that women of the stage should not marry until they are ready to retire to private life, and the idea is sound, though few such women have sufficient determination i to act upon it. Mistakes of Taft's Managers. The general opinion in Washington is that Secretary Taft's manajreri are making a series of blunders. Thc announcement of C. P. Taft that his brother, Secretar Taft, accepts the gage of battle hurled by Foraker on condition that both the senatorship and the presidential indorsement are to be the fruits of victory is regarded as 1 the worst blunder of all. Friends of Representative Burton 7of Cleveland were mad as home's over this pronouncement of "Brothe; Charley." Burton has all along b?-n inclined to perform, with the Taft i.ic tion in Ohio politics, thinking that thereby he (Burton) could manage to slip into Foraker's seat in th.- en ate. Now it appears that C. P Taft has closed this door of opportunity and politicians of Washington will not be surprised if there is an open break a little later on between thc Burton and Taft followers. The Burton men contend that '-f such a break ocurs it will because thc Taft brothers could not restrain their pro; cnsity to "act the hog.". Everything seems to be working out to the satisfaction of Senator Foraker, so far as Ohio politic; h concerned.
