Pogonips in Indian Country, One of the heaviest pogonips that has prevailed in western Nevada for
many years has ben hanging- over the
vicinity of Carson for the last fevr days. Reno reported a severe pegonip one day this week, and similar reports come from the little towns, below Carson. The Indians greatly fear these visitations, as they say that many of their people die if they last for many days. Pogonip is the Indian name fof peculiar fog that occassional" visits the mountain country during- the winter months. The sun is obscured, usually during the entire day, and sometimes for days, while the air is charged with a heavy fog in which fine particles of snow seem to be flying. Althoug.1 the temperature may not be low, intense cold is felt on account of the unusual humidity that prevails.
Frank Ernst, the handy man so long in Andy Molter'sr ofnet, has gone to South' Bend to seek1 employment.
