ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS. "The Battle of Spurs" took its name from the fact that when the spoils were gathered by the victors there were 4000 golden spurs found on the Held. As none but knights then wore tuch spurs, the nunber of them found marked tho extent of the knightly laughter. The "Battle of Spurs" was fought Ht Coutrai, in Flaudets, in the year 1302. It was aa pochal event, because it was the first great battle between the nobles and the common people, aad the common people won tbe day. The uriny of the people was composed merely of the citizens of a Flemish manufaetur rag towus, aad yet they utterly over threw the knighU and gentlemen of France, who expected to slaughter the burghers like sheep. Tbe result of this terrific engagement opened tho eyes of the world for tho first time to the fact that mechanics, uaerehants and day-laborers had as much pluck as knlgUU and noblemen. From that day the odious feudal system began to decay, and the subsequent battle of Bannockburn, Crecy and Polctiera, which were also won by yeomen, decided the fate of feudalism. Symptoms of a Diseased Liver. 1)AIN in the right side, under the edge of the ribs, increases on pressure; sometimes the pain is in the left side; the patient is rarely able to lie on the left side; sometimes the pain is felt under the shoulder blade, and it frequently extends to the top of the shoulder, and is sometimes mistaken for rheumatism in the arm. The stomach is affected with loss of appetite and sickness; the bowels in general are costive, sometimes alternative with lax ; the head i troubled with pain, accompanied with a dull, heavy sensation in the back jiart. There is generally a considerable loss of memory, accompanied with a painful sensation of having left undone something which ought to have been done. A slight, dry cough is sometimes an attendant. The patent complains of weariness and debility ; he is easily startled, his feet are cold or burning, and he complains of a prickly sensation of the skin ; his spirits are low ; and although he is satisfied that exercise would be beneficial to him, yet he can scarcely summon up fortitude enough to try it. In fact, he distrusts every remedy. Several of the above symptoms attend the disease, but cases have occurred where few of them existed, yet examination of the body, after death, has shown the i.ivkr to have been extensively deranged. AGUE AND FEVER. Dr. C. McLane's Liver Piixs, in casks of Ague and Fkvkr, when taken with Quinine, are productive of the most happy results. No better cathartic can be used, preparatory to, or after taking Quinine. We would advise all who are afflicted with this disease to give them a fair trial.
