Mrs. L. M. Imes, the milliner, will not have an Easter opening this season, but will meet her competitors in prices and styles. An election held in Robert Monday resulted in favor of building eight miles of gravel road. Last year the same town built eleven miles. Our fellow townsman. Geo. L. Morgan, has been appointed guard at the state prison at Michigan City. His family will remain in Rensselaer. Bills are out for the big band tournament to be held here June 3rd. Rensselaer will doubtless have her hands full in caring for the crowd on that day. The Ministerial Association and the Epvorth League organization, of Valpariso district, meet in joint convention at Goodland, May 17, 18 and 19. Good Patronage.
Wanted 400 head of horses and cattl to pasture. Abundant water, blue gram, careful attendance. Call on Robertson Bros., Rensselaer. The fire company was called out twice the past week. A burning kettle of tar at the new laundry building caused the alarm to be given Saturday afternoon. The company arrived at the scene in short order, but their services were not needed. Monday morning fire broke out in the pump house at the depot. The boys were promptly on hand and had the fire out in short order. But little damage was done.
