Inaugural Ball Details.

The inaugural ball closed the celebration of Mr. McKinley’g Induction into office. The great court of the pension office, In which the function took place, wag gorgeously decorated with flags and bunting and forests of tropical plants and potted flowers. The ball proper opened with the arrival of the President at 9:30, and as he entered with Mrs. McKinley and the Presidential party the full Marino band announced it with the opening march. After disposing of their wraps the President with Mrs. McKinley made the tour of the ballroom, leading the grand promenade. This was his only public appearance at the function, as he then retired to the suite of apartments set aside for his use, and there received a few friends and the most distinguished guests. Vice-President Hobart accompanied the President to the ball, this arrangement having been made to facilitate the reception of the privileged guests.
