Senate Indorses the President’s Cabinet Selections. The senate was in session only about two hours Friday, and the greater part of the time was spent in executive session in confirming Mr. McKinley’s cabinet appointments. The following were the nominations: Secretary of State—John Sherman of Ohio. Secretary of the Treasury—Lyman J. Gage of Illinois. Secretary of War —Russell A. Alger of Michigan. Attorney-General—Joseph M’Kenna of California. Postmaster-General—James A. Gary of Maryland. Secretary of the Navy—John D. Long of Massachusetts. Secretary of the Interior —Cornelius N.
