Widow Defles a Constable.
Shelbyville, Ind., Feb. 26. Mrs. Mary Taylor, a widow who has been supporting her five children by taking in washing, .was this morning thrown into the street with her household goods fpr non-payment of rent. She cooked her dinner on the street and then moved back into the house with her furniture. She then loaded up the musket her husband had carried in the rebellion and stood guard. When Constable William Sanders returned he found her still holding the house and threatening to shoot him if he molested her. The affair has created great sympathy for the mother and she is receiving assistance from the residents.
