Punishment for Setting Forest Fires.
A bill has passed the senate which makes it a misdemeanor wilfully to set fire to any timber, underbrush or grass, or negligently to leave a fire burning near any timber on the public domain. The punishment is fixed at two years’ imprisonment and $5,000 fine.
