Formal Announcement of the Result In the November Flection. The last formality i! icident to a presidential election occi rred Wednesday in the hall of the hoi se of representatives in the presence of the joint assembly of congress, /when the vicepresident announced the electoral vote as shown in the returns from the several states. The totals were as follows: For President: McKinley, 271; Bryan, 176. For vice-president: Hobart, 271; Sewa.ll, 149; Waison, 27. The announcement of the state of the vote is the only notification the president-elect and i ice-president-elect will receive. No official communication is sent to them. <)
