For Home Charities.

The entertainment, “Smoked Pearls,” given by Mrs. Annie Ward Foster, assisted by local talent, at the opera house Monday night was a pronounced success. The house wa<: well filled and the receipts satisfactory for the purpose in view, viz., the dispensing of charities at home. It was a genuine minstrel show, composed of about twenty-five of the leading people of the city, and the various songs, jokes and dances were fully up to the best performance of the professional cork artists.
