Signs of Christmas.

She meets me at the door Each evening with a smile that’s sweet and mellow: “Your supper's waiting. Come right in. You poor, Dear, tired fellow 1” (But I know just what that means, For we’ve struck the Christmas scenes— A now red hat, And the likes o’ that— That’s just what the dear one means.) She marks my frowning brow (’Tis sweet to have a woman to adore yon.) And says, “I know your head must ache, and now I’m going to rub it for you.” (Bnt 1 know just what that means, For We’Ve struck the Christmas scenes— A dress, a hat ’ And the likes o’ that— That's just what the dear one means.) —Frank L. Stanton in Atlanta Constitution.
