Alex Littlefield left here for his new Virginia home last week. Weather is fine, and the farmers are all done husking at this time of writing. Those who are obliged to sell • their corn (and many are, the majority of them) receive 16 cents per bushel, and this six weeks after it was known that the “Advance agent of Prosperity”, (McKinley) was elected, We were told all through the campaign that his election would restore confidence, and prosperity would at once dawn upon us. Some of those poor deluded mortals now see their mistake and are sorry for their action. Others there are who will never know more than to obey the dictation of their masters. The Christian church people are carrying on a protracted meeting, conducted by Rev. J. D, Carson. Mr. Fleckenstein has been brought back,from the Lafayette Soldiers’ Home. The Christian Endeavor Society heard §teve Yeoman’s report of the Muncie meeting last Sunday evening.
