A oommittee from New Brunswick, N. J., went to Vice President Elect Hobart the other day to secure his attendance at a political demonstration. Mr. Hobart begged to be excused. Then he added: “Gentlemen, the demands npon my time are enormous. I have about 75 invitations to attend dinners and celebrations on Monday. If I did nothing but write autographs for the babies, I would be very busy. ” “Babies? What do you mean?” asked one of the committeemen. “Why,” said Mr. Hobart, “I have had 800 of them named after me so far, and the end is not in sight. ”
