Delphi vs. Rensselaer.
To-day’s foot ball game resulted in a victory for Delphi after a very hard struggle, the score being 12 to 0. The game was exciting from start to finish, and had the home boys played in the first half as they did in the last, they would have won the game with ease. Several accidents happeped during the game, one of Delphi’s men being carried of the field with a broken leg, and three others so badly hurt, that they were un able to play.

The Republican this week in referring to the well known poverty of the silver party, and the undisputed fact that they prosecuted the past campaign absolutely without a campaign fund, their expenses being paid by contributions from poor men, who were truly patriotic in their sacrifices for the principles they advocated, has the brazen assurance to publish the following vicious falsehood, the writer knowing that every allegation in it was untrue: lea, 9575,000,000 in the silver trust alone is very severe poverty, very severe indeed. And it is no wonder that such •’severe” poverty allowed them to contribute generously. One of their agents from Colorado, himself "severely poor” by several millions was in this locality, "contributing” at such a rate that ordinary people would hare thought it was abundant wealth he was contributing out of iußtead of severest poverty. Perhaps the Populist chairman of the Tenth district has not yet forgotten the poor gentleman’s visit to this section of Ind. The purpose of the above unmitagated lies, is simply tocounteract the tfnpleasant effect of the expose of the enormous campaign fund of the republicans. The editor of the Republican has had his falsifications pass unchallenged so long that he can’t even tolerate the truth in an opposition paper if it in any way differs from his own misrepresentations. He knows there is no silver trust. He has never dreamed that an agent of anything or anybody disbursed money here in the interest of the silver party. But he does jknow that the banks and trusts contributed 95,000,000 to the corruption fund of Mark Hannh, and he further knows that a. liberal allowance was allotted to the tenth congressional district of Indiana. We are violating no confidence in stating that the money was brought to Rensselaer by one of her own citizens, that the money was in cash, that it was carried, in a valise, that the citizen was accompanied on the train, by a special guard, that this money was paid over to the several county committees only after they had raised certain stipulated amounts to be used with it, that to every dollar locally raised two of Hanna’s dollars were added, that the fat was fried out of every office holder, every candidate and every prospective candidate in the district as such fat was never fried before. , , The managers of the silver campaign have an accurate account of the receipts and disbursements of their funds, and no friend of the cause need blush to see it published. They challenge the republican managers to publish theirs. They dare not do it. They dare not ask our authority for the expose of their campaign secrets. If they do, names, dates and figures will be given and sworn to by as reputable men as there are in Rensselaer. Thoma* Florence of Fair Oaka brought a forty pound turkey to the Rensselaer market Tuesday. He says wolves have been very distructive of his tnrkeys year. In the vicinity of Kniman mare wolves have been seen than before for years. A Thanksgiving ball will be given by the young men of Rensselaer op Wednesday evening, the 24th. Miss Mary Kirk Rider is one of Chicago’s finest elocutionists. At the Presbyterian church Nov. 20th. Hear the JHumaniphone Nov. 20th. It is the most wonderful and funniest musical instrument on earth. Don't fall to hear Prof. Hayner violinist, at ths Presbyterian church, Nov. 20th.
