Ordinance No. 38.
Slaughter-Houses. An Ordinance regulating the location and operation of slaughter-houses and soap factories, providing penalties for its violation and declaring an emergency. (Ordained and Established June 22nd, 1896.) Sec y 1. Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Rensselaer, Indiana: That it shall be unlawful for sny person to locate, erect, continue or operate, any slaugh-ter-house, soap factory, or other place for the rendering of animal fat except for domestic use in private family within one hundred feet of the corporate limits of said City, and any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be fined in any sum not exceeding Ten ($10.00) dollars and each day the same shall continue shall constitute a seperate violation of this ordinance. Sec. 2. This ordinance shall be in force two weeks from and after its passage and publication in the Ordinances of the City of Rensselaer.
