The beautiful birds chant their carol of peace in all things at spring time, and yet with it all, spring brings the beautiful white tents traveling the roads by van and horse from place to place, erecting for a day the canvas housed villages* wherein can gather the multitudes for enjoyment and pleasant amusement, thus passing a few hours with the horseman the skilled athlete, the trained pony and the charming dogs that go to school. Spring cannot come alone, the show must come with it; therefor we will be happy with it. Sitting upon its long rows of seats filled with cheerfulness, looking upon all that is great and listening to the popular music of the “gay Circus Band,” intersperced here and there by outbursts of mirth caused by the Fancy Clown'6 anties, and his indispensible repartee with the Ring Master, it all goes to make up this life, and life is surely worth living, while we must admit we cannot live without the Circus show once in a while. To that end the wonderful Sun Bros, seek your patronage and will visit us Thursday Aug. 6th. Rensselaer Ind. Erecting|their tent on Spitzler lots north of depot. Numerous sights are to be seen within its arena, and the small priee of 25 cents pays the bill.
Lowest Rates Yet for Money
If you want to borrow money in sums of S2OOO and upward on real estate, get rates everywhere else and J. A. McFarland will discount them. Office with the People's Pilot. While all eyes are turned on the politi cal situation and many are undecided whether to cast their vote in favor of the restoration of silver or for a continuance of the present financial policy, the arena is, as üßal, bold, strong, vigorous and outspoken on the situation. In the August number, in a paper entitled “A Reply to ’A Finacial Seer,’ ” Mr. C. S. Thomas an able and successful lawyer, who has for many years made a special study of the currency question, furnishes some strong and convincing arguments in favor of the restoration of silver to its constitutional place in our currency. Mr. George Canning Hill, the Massachusetts member of the National Bimetallic Union, in a brief

paper, headed “The Morning of a New Day,” while not entering into cumbrous details, gives a clear and concise review of the money question. Although fully realizing the importance of the struggle through which the country is now pass-i ing and the neccessity which lies upon etery man to thoroughly inform himself upon this most vital question, and then to be true to himself and to his country at the polls, Mr. Hill takes an optimistic view of the situation and believes in the ultimate triumph of silver. Those who waver between free silver and gold monometallism shouid have their doubts forever set at rest by reading “Notes by the Editor” in this issue. In these Notes the Editor of the Arena, whc, by the way, in some occult fashion seems to find out the most secret plans of the gold men, makes some startling revelations in regard to the methods adopted by these gentlemen in order to force the country to a gold basis.

Sun Bros.’ Circus.
The time is passed when a manager, by means of flattering promises, gaudy advertisements, and a liberal use of printers ink was able to de'raud and delude the public into the belief that his; and his only, was the “greatest show on earth.” The American people have learifed to shun such humbugs as they would a
poisonous serpent. Sun Brothers do not profess to have the largest show touring the face of the globe; their exhibition does not travei on “four special trains.” neitherare “six rings and elevated stages,” an adjunct to the performance. In place of thesa. Bowever Sun Brothers Progressive Shows preseni to your notice the beet and highest-salaried collection of graceful contortionists, mirth-provok-ing clowns, the largest school of educated horses, ponies, dogs and goats; the most celebrated tumblers and leapers ever placed upon exhibition under a single canvas in either Europe or America.
