Threshing began last week. Fet Jinkens is very busy with, his dredging machine. He says it is a profitable business. He intends to build an elevator in the near future at the iron bridge near the Fayior farm. Mr. Willoughby who lives on the Dr. Salisbury farm left last Monday for Illinois. He will bring with him a car load of farm machinery when he re turns. ‘ Alfred Clager who has been working south of Rensselaer has returned home to help his father plow beans. Scott Richardson has reached South Dakota and has written a letter to his friends saying that he is going to start to Tennessee in a few days. Miss Lena Swim who has been quite ill has fully recovered. Alice Garriott was presented with a fine new organ, a gift from her father. Frank Cant and Wm. Hauchbaum had quite a law suit last Saturday at Virgie bes ore ’Squire Wiseman over a quart of huckleberries. Mr. Gant was plaintiff and Hauchbau m defendant. Gant received s. verdict of one cent damages and has half the costs to pay. It was a jury trial. A new organ has been purchased for the church at Aix. Jfred Hauchbaum of Fair Oaks visited Henry Hauchbaum ahd family near Aix last Sunday. A great many of our people will spend the 4th at Wheatfiefd. Albert Keener and wife are visiting friends in Now York city this week. Joseph Austin and wife of Wheatfield, and Harvey Morse of-Momence, 111., visited Mr. Faylor’s last Sunday. Amiel Schultz is very busy plowing for buckwheat this week.
