It is with regret that the Pilot announcesthe retirement qf Rev.L. H. Finley from the pastorate of the Christian church. Mr. Findley has given the best of satisfaction here and fifty-five additions to tinchurch have been made under his administration. The best wishes of his large c ngregation will attend him in his efforts to regain his health.
Uv.ele Jack Warner and his sou have been doing their share of carriage painting this season, having already turned out over forty jobs, several of which are really tine pieces of work. They have their shop on Front street south of Hemphill's shop, their sign reading, J. P. &D. J. Warner. They are prepared to do house painting and will make a low price as first class work can be done for. E. S. Fendig is now to be seen at his new place, where he is prepared to pay the highest cash price for eggs. veal, hides, old rubber, iron and all kinds ot junk. Horatio Ropp accompanied his compliments to the Pilot by a peck of new potatoes, the finest we have ever seen so early in the season. They were prize winners at a potato fair, and excellent fare they have been. Thanks, Brother Ropp. Mrs. Parks will return from the Woman’s hospital of Chicago next Sunday having made a rapid recovery from her recent surgical operation.
