A. F. Long. A venerable hardware merchant of Rensselaer recently sold a promihant lady an article of tinware worth fifty cents, for which one dime and four three cent pieces were tendered in payment* The kind-hearted tradesman accepted the change as payment rather than humiliate his fair customer by calling her attention to the error. Inasmuch as the three cent pieces are becoming rare and are no longer coined, it is . possible that they will soon be at handsome premium and we would advise the victimized merchant today his 111 coins away and wait for advance in value.
