Want Cotton Acreage Decreased.
Memnhis, Tenn., Jan.. 22.—The convention of cotton producers, called by President Hector D. Lane of the American Cotton growers’ Protective association to take action to effect a continuation of decreased acreage, met here yesterday. Fully 1,000 delegates are present. The report of the committee On resolutions \yas unanimously adopted. It declared that the overproduction of cotton reduces the value of that commodity far below the cost of making it, and advocated a reduction of the acreage planted. The resolutions also urge the production of an abundant supply of corn, hay, meat and other like commodities for home consumption.
