Kneebs’ Heavy Sentence.

Berlin, Jan' 15.—Kneebs, the American trotting horse owner, who entered and started on German tracks the mare Bethel under the name of “Nellie Kneebs,” was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment and to pay a fine of 1,000 marks ($238). The court also ordered the seizure and forfeiture of the mare. Owners of race-horses are unanimous in their approval of the sentence and in their denunciation of Kneebs and men of his type as dangerous"swlndlers who deserve to be prosecuted without mercy.
