Elvin Overton left to-day for a month’s visit with relatives in Boone, Clinton and Howard counties’. Hog cholera preventative from state formula for sale at Meyer’s drug store. Frank Meyer and A. R. Hnpkins were in Chicago Tuesday, and took in the “Lohengrin” Wagner’s German opera at the Grand. Come in boys. We can laundry for you all as well as one, “boys.” Spitler & Kight. A. H. Hopkins and John Randle were at Goodland Tuesday and Wednesday, experiencing a medley of mishaps that consumed two days instead of the half of one day. Blank books, writing material and school incidentals, the finest assortment at Meyer’s drug store. Geo. K. Hollingsworth, wife and son Donald left yesterday afternoon on the south bound train for a week or more at the Cotton States Exposition, Atlanta, and other points. Ask your neighbor about our laundry work and they will tell you it is the best they ever had done. Spitler & Kight. Frances Eiglesbach found a pocket book with a small sum of money enclosed this morning, and the little Miss holds the same subject to the claim of the owner. Frank B. Meyer has the sale of township and town school books and keeps the finest line of school supplies in Rensselaer. Tuesday night was the coldest this fall and quite a mantle of snow lay upon the ground the following morning, when the sun rose on as perfect an autumn day as one could have made to order.
A grand concert under auspices of the Y. P. S. C. E. will be given at Ellis opera house Wednesday evening, Nov., 27Good talent has been engaged and the people may be sure of an excellent entertainment. Lyman Zea has purchased a hack and taken up his stand at the depot platform in the interest of the new Nowels house. He has a very comfortable conveyance and meets all the trains regularly, He solicits a share of the town patronage and will promptly responds to calls from any point in town.
