Altgeld Will Not Run Again.

Springfield, 111., Oct. 10. —Governor Altgeld authorizes the Chicago Inter Ocean to say that there is no foundation whatever for Secretary Hinrlchsen’s statement that the governor had notified the democratic state central committee that he would be a candidate for re-election. He says nobody has asked him to run again and he has given the matter no consideration. He says the office Is a very expensive one to hold; that he cannot get through on the salary and the amount allowed for running the mansion, and that he continually runs behind in finances.
