TRY TO WRECK A TRAIN.

Robbers Explode Dynamite Under the Cincinnati-St. Louis Express. , Cincinnati, Ohio, Oct. 10. —An attempt was made near Cochran, Ind., to wreck the Baltimore and Ohio southwestern express, which left here at 8 o’clock Tuesday night for St. Louis. The engine struck a dynamite cartridge that had been fastened to the inner rail. Engineer Tom Higson and his fireman were badly stunned. The fireman was unfitted for work. Fortunately the cars did not leave the track. The motive of the attempt was evidently robbery. Several suspicious characters were seen by the trainmen about the place, but no attempt at robbery was made by the thieves when they saw that the train was safe.
