The funeral occurred at 10:30 a. m., Sunday, July 7. from the Church of God, Rev. L. E. Conner officiating assisted by Dr. Utter, interment being made in Weston. Eliza Sigler, was born in Hobart township. Lake co., Ind., January 16. 1814, and moved with parents to Wheeler, Porter co., Ind., in 1859. She united with the Presbyterian church in 1860 and was married to J. H. Willey Oct. 14, 1863. They moved to Rensselaer, in May, 1866, at which place she lived until 1891. She united with the Church of God with her husband in 1868, and lived a consistent Christian life to the day of her death. It is truly said of her that she had none but friends among her acquaintances, and that criticism of the acts of others never lell from her lips. Her's was as near the ideal life of, mortal perfection as it is possible to find, and in her departure the blow falls with crushing severity on her husband. children, and friends. It was indeed a large aucience that listened to the funeral service. The last two years Mr. Willey has been a traveling salesman, and she has resided with her father in Porter county previous to returning to Rensselaer, and it was not until the first of May that he was made aware of the terrible malady that threatened her life. Three sons survive her. D. S.. 0. V.. and W. L , also two brothers are living at Mt. Ayr and one in Porter county. Her uncles, D. T. Sigler (and daughter) of Hebron. Ind., and Wm. S. Sigler (and daughter) of Englewood. 111., attended the funeral.
