Through the courtesy of Bro. Ed. Parcels we have received the following interesting facts concerning the Independent Order of Foresters: During the month of May the number of applications for membership received by the Medical Board was 4.022, of whom 3.611 were accepted, showing an advance of over 500 on the highest number of applications ever received in any one month. The surplus fund of the order on the Ist of June showed the high total of $1,317,000. On the 30th of May the corner stone of the Foresters’ Temple was laid by His Excellency the Earl of Aberdeen. Governor General of Canada, in the presence of an immense concourse of Foresters and their friends.
The temple will 6eeight stories high and will be the finest fraternal headquarters on the continent. The Foresteric year closes on the 30th of June, and in every particular it will be the most prosperous year in the history of the order. The increase in the surplus has been $360,000,000. and in the membership about 18,0u0. For the month of June it is expected that at least 5.000 applications will be received. During ’the year new Courts have averaged 3.5 per month. The Supreme Court will meet at St. Martins’ Town Hall, Trafalgar Square. London. England, on the Ist day of August. The High Court of Ontario will meet at London, Ontario, on tme-fyl|l of October.
