Bruce, who left here some months ago for an extended visit in Kansas, started home a few days ago, and while stopping with friends in Kansas City, was taken suddenly ill. and died. His remains arrived here yesterday on the 11:30 train. The funeral will be held from the Missionary Baptist church. W. W. Israel left for Chicago yesterday where he will receive treatment at the Hahnemann hospital, for a month or possibly longer. Albert and Alfred Hopkins made a trip to Lafayette last night.
