Mr. and Mrs. Tilton were called to Chicago Heights on account of the severe illness of Mrs. Tilton’s grandmother, Mrs. Hays, well known at this place. The brakeman, who was supposed to bo killed at this place last Monday, was found only to be suffering from some flesh bruises, which are very painful. This seems to be a miracle that it was not death instead of life. P. E. Davis left last Tuesday morning for Tennessee, to examine land, which if it proves satisfactory, ne will trade Wheatfield property for. Nelson Hays has sold his house and lots to grandpa Rimlev for §6OO. He contemplates moving to Chicago Heights. We are sorry to loose such a kind ! neighbor and good citizen.
Mrs. Frank Austin has been very sick but is reported better at this writing. The Teacher’s Institute entertainment, held last Saturday euening at the to«'n hall, was a grand success. Everybody was there and seemed to enjoy themselves. B. B.
