We notice several vacant houses in town. The Loyal Temperence Legion will meet at the home of Mrs. Katie Kessinger, Saturday afternoon, Dec. 15, at 3 o’clock. All are invited to attend. We ask that none of our delinquents take offense at the printed statements we are mailing them. We are calling on none who are not behind at least one year. The Hildebrand saloon is undergoing a complete renovation, preparatory to it’s occupancy by its new manager, Chas. Crosscup. The W. C. T. U. will meet with Mrs. Katie Kessinger, Saturday, Dec. 15, at 2 p. m. promptly. All members are requested to be present. A gentleman from Indianapolis is here working for the Governriient Building and Loan Association from that . place. Great interest seems to be taken in this company. The Bazaar will be op&fi ffoil Tuesday, Dec. IS, until the following Saturday. You will have an opportunity to buy all kinds of useful and fancy articles. Thomas Davidson, of Fair Oaks, was buried here Tuesday. The deceased was an old soldier who has long been a sufferer from wounds received on the battle field. The funeral was conducted by the G. A. Albert Fendig was elected aiderman Monday, in the city of Brunswick, Ga. Brunswick is a city of about ten thousand inhabitants. We consider this election quite a compliment to young Fendig and can say to the people of Brunswick that we have no fears of them regretting their choice. The Bazaar which is to be held next week in John Eger’s old stand, by the Presbyterian ladies is for the purpose of raising money toward building a church. No one will deny the need. We therefore solicit your patronage. Any help you can give us will be thankfully received. There will be a Christmas Tree and entertainment given by the Wheatfield schools, for the benefit of the school library, on Christmas eve. Every one who comes will receive a present and an interesting and pleasant time is assured. There will be a premium of a ladies’ fine gold pen and holder given to the prettiest girl, and a handsome prize to the most popular young man. All cordially invited.. Sheep. The undersigned has a nice lot of Shropshire ewes that he will put out on the shares, or sell and contract the lambs and wool, or sell on time till the money can be made out of them.
