Longest Sleep on Record.

The longest continuous cataleptic sleep known to medical science wan reported from Germany in the spring of 1892; the patient—a Silesian miner —having remained absolutely unconscious for a period of four and a half (4%).months. The doctors in attendance could not report anything in the way of symptoms which would suggest that there was something out of the ordinary in the man’s slumbers, excepting a complete rigidity of the limbs. One peculiarity whichJ| was much commented upon was that the hair grew naturally during the whole of the extended nap, but hie beard remained perfectly stationary and lifeless.
