A Terrible Death.
Chicago, Sept. 19.—John Foley, 51 years old, of Twenty-ninth and Butler streets, met death in a terrible manner Tuesday aiternoon while at work in the planing mill of the Hines Lumber company at Robey street and Blue Island avenue. He was engaged in adjusting a belt about a pulley, when his clothing caught in the swiftly moving wheel and he was whirled rapidly around several times. Before the machinery could be stopped both his legs had been torn off below tiie knee and his head had been crushed in a frightful manner.
