Obituary.

Adam Coppess, son of Adam and Mary Coppess was born in Green Co., Ohi.>, March Bth, 1812. Died Aug. Bth, 189-1, aged 82 years and 5 months. He moved to Darke county,- Ohio, when 8 years of age; was married to Elizabeth Oliver April sth, 1888. From this union thei'o were born ten children,all of whom, except one, still survive. Father Coppess moved to Gillam township, Jasper Co.. Ind., in Sept., 1851, where he has since lived, lie; joined the M. L. church about 50 years ago and lias since tried to live a consistent Christian. For the past four and a hr if years he had been entirely blind, through these years of darkness! and through his last sickness, which continued for nine weeks, he was very com. and patient. He said he had lived long enough and was rea ly to go at the Master's cali. The funeral services were held at Independence chaple, conducted by Rev. Sebring, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetaiy.
