THE PEOPLE’S PILOT.
We had the pleasure of visiting the World’s Fair grounds at Jackson Park, last Sunday, and saw what yet remains of that beautiful “White City.” The work of demolition is being pushed forward on every hand, and it will not be long until there will be nothing to tell of the great exposition. The greater number of the state buildings torn way. The Indiana building is standing just as it was during the Fair. About two-thirds of the immense transportation building still stands but is being rapidly razed to the ground, as is also the woman’s building. All that is left of the attractive Midway is the Ferris wheel, and that is being torn down, one section already being taken out. There is yet considerable to be seen and it is well worth the visitor’s time to take a look at the remains.

Those who visited the State convention of the People’s Party at Indianapoiis, report a grand and enthusiastic meeting, and great work throughout the State is expected at the coming election. A good ticket has been placed in the field, one in fact, that will make the old parties get up and hustle if they defeat it.
John Healy has opened a shoe shop in Uncle Charley Rhoades’ harness shop, and is now prepared to do all kinds of custom work. His terms are cash to all. If you need repairing done in first class style, give him a call and he will give you satisfaction.
The recent cold snap seem to have affected the corn crop in many places throughout the State. Reports from several counties say that the frost has damaged that crop to considerable extent.
Another cold snap struck this county last Sunday and ovei> coats, coal and wood was in demand. It realy seems as if winter was still lingering in the laps of spring and summer.
