Philadelphia Firms Assign.

Philadelphia, March 29. —An assignment for the benefit of creditors has been made by the firms of Wood, Brown & Co. and Haines & Co., in the process of liquidating the business of both concerns. Aside from a large loan supplied by Drexel & Co., amount not stated, Wood, Brown &Co.’s liabilities will reach $60u,000, while those of Haines & Co. are said to be $400,000.
