The Editor Always Discouraged.
When anyone proposes to start a new newspaper he is gravely reminded that there are nineteen thousand five hundred and seventy-three (the very latest figure) newspapers printed in the United States and Canada. But he is now learning to retort that Benjamin Franklin’s mother advised him not to start another newspaper “since there were already two in the country.” —Doing nothing for others is the undoing of one’s self. We do much good to ourselves when doing much for others.—ll. Mann. Herodotus says that Crcesus was the first sovereign to make ooins of gold.
