People's Pilot, Volume 3, Number 20, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 3 November 1893 — Should Be Repealed. [ARTICLE]

Should Be Repealed.

The platform calls for a sound and stable currency and for the repeal of the Sherman law. In regard to these things Mr. Cleveland is squarely on the platform. The platform calls for the coinage of both gold and silver, free from charge of mintage. Mr. Cleveland says he is opposed to such a scheme. That is where platform and president part company. The duty of congress is plain. The pledges of the party should be redeemed regardless of the firm views of the president, however honest they may be. The Sherman law should be repealed and substitute legislation in the shape of free coinage of silver should be passed.—Athena (Ga.) Banner.
