Very Old Writing.
The most ancient Christian manuscripts in existence are the great codices of the entire Scripture—the Vatican, the Alexandrine and the Sinaitie codex. They were written, it is generally conceded, in the fourth century. The Vatican codex has been for centuries in the Vatican library and is looked on as the most precious of the three. The Alexandrine, so caUed because it was brought to England fropa Alexandria about the middle of the seventeenth century, is kept in the British museum at London; and the Sinaitie, so called because discovered by Tisenhendorf about forty years ago in the convent of Mount Sinai, is preserved at St. Petersburg. Some men complain of hard times win sleep themselves into poverty.
