PRAYED FOR THE BABY.

The Chaplain of the House Implores Divine Blessiug on Little Ruth’s Sister. Washington, Sept 12.—Another brief half hour session was held by the house with less than a hundred members present The chaplain prayed for the little daughter in the white house as follows: “We thank Thee that Thou hast gladdened the nation and the home ot the chief executive with a little one. May the Hie and health of the mother be conserved, and the life of the little one be spared that she may attain the high ideal of womanhood Illumined by her mother, and may meekness, modesty, mildness, gentleness and all the virtues that pertain to the highest type of womanhood be hers, and may the family of the white house become a beacon in the wilderness to all the families throughout the length and breadth of the land.”
