MORE RAIN IS NEEDED.

The Drought Effectually Broken ka Only a Few Places. Washington, Aug. 16.— The- weekly telegraphic crop report of the weather bureau says:; Drought conditions continue over portions of northern Pennsylvania, southern and western New York, West Virginia, central and southern Ohio, northern Michigan, portions of Illinois and Wisconsin. Droughthas been partially relieved in Indiana, southern Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas, and has been effectually broken, in portions ©f lowa, although much rain is still needed in many sections, of that state. In Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana there has been too much rain for cotton and the crop has suffered from excessive rains in portions of South Carolina and Mississippi
