KILLED BY A LIVE WIRE.
A Lineman Shocked to Death In Midair at Toledo, Ou Toledo, 0., July 11. —Louis. Nape, a lineman, was instantly killed Monday morning while working at the top of a pole. He was fixing what was supposed to be a broken and dead wire. Unfortunately it had come in contact with a live wire and the insulation was burned off. Nape’s spur on his heel touched, a grounded telephone wire and his body completed the circuit. He fell, still clinging to the wire, and the limp body caught On a rope suspended between the poles and hung in mid air, smoking and flashing at the points of contact with the wires. When the body was cut down it was found that the flesh had been burned away to the bones on the hands and one foot.
