The Hebron and Lowell banks, which failed last week, were owned by R. S. Dwiggins and sons Jay and Elmer. The assets in each of the banks consisted chieffly of the notes of the Dwiggins’. In the Hebron bank the deposits were over $24,000, with assets a little over $15.000. The difference went into the pockets of Dwiggins and sons. To keep the bank out of the hands of a receiver Dwiggins agreed to sell the banks to local capitalists, and make up the balance of the deficiency by giving security on Griffith, their town on paper. Geo. V. Moss has been cashier of the Hebron bank. Their real estate business at Griffith is probably as big a fraud as their banks. Isaac Glazebrook still handles the celebrated McCormick binders and mowers. Give him a call. Look Here— Notions dry goods, groceries and novelties delivered to you houses.
