JAIL BREAKERS CAUGHT.
Two Escaped Prisoners Captured Near Lansing, Mich., After a Fight in Which One is Fatally Wounded. LANSING, Mich., May 22. —The authorities learned Saturday that “Doc” Bentley and Bert Donnelly, two of the notorious Bently gang, who broke jail at Mason a week ago, were in hiding near Leadley’s park, three miles from this city. Officers immediately started after them. When they found the men they resisted arrest and a desperate fight ensued. In the battle one of the escaped prisoners was fatally shot. The other was captured, and the officers brought both men to the city.
